Welcome to Gelabert Studios Gallery - New York

Gelabert Studios Gallery began in New York, March 1989. The first show was to honor the Cuban artist Margarita de Mena. The successful result, and the need for exhibition space for rent in New York City, provided the impetus to open our doors to the international art community and artists who do not have representation in New York. Since then, the beautifully curated shows have brought the admiration of art critics and patrons.

Today, Gelabert Studios Gallery is one of the most elegant international art galleries in New York. A place where your artwork will show its maximum beauty!

Having already made a word-of-mouth reputation as an excellent new exhibition venue, specializing in rising international talents, Gelabert Studios, at 255 W. 86th Street, continues to add to the multicultural riches of the New York scene with its latest group show of contemporary artists...

Gelabert Studios have cast their net almost all over the world for talent, finding artists from abroad and others who live here…The link of U.S. and foreign proves to be very productive.

"International Pleasures at Gelabert Studios." More than most exhibits of its kind, Group Show of Contemporary Artists at Gelabert Studios, 255 West 86th Street, through February 23, presents a varied array of talents, adding up to an overview of international tendencies that should carry considerable sway in the nineties.

Thank you for your wonderful letter. It brought back many sweet memories of, what can safely be called, one of the most remarkable moments of my life. It also reminded me, once again, that you are indeed a wonderful human being and a thoroughly remarkable person. Thank you for all your help during the exposition and for making it a truly unforgettable experience.

The two weeks of my solo exhibit from 15-28 October 1989 at Gelabert Studios passed by much too swiftly. For me, it has been a happy and gratifying two weeks. Without being modest, I must confess that the show was indeed beautiful and a success. My colorful paintings together with the open gallery space and carefully arranged lightings created a dramatic stage, upon which visitors as well as my good friends came and shared the joy with me…Your genuine interest in the success of my show is touching…I am looking forward to many beautiful Octobers to come at Gelabert Studios as I continue to develop in my art work.

This powerful exhibition, Taniguchi’s first in the U.S., introduces us to an immensely gifted painter whose future development will be well worth watching.
